What is the PBR?
The PBR World Finals, is the "Super Bowl of bull riding," and offers more than $3.2 million dollars in prize money! The event spans two consecutive weekends in Las Vegas and features the year's top 45 bull riders who've won the most money during the BFTS regular season. Each competing rider receives an appearance check of $5,000, a reward for his stellar season performance.
The format of the World Finals includes eight rounds of competition. The first seven rounds feature the top 45 riders randomly matched against the sport's toughest bulls. The top 15 riders who attain the highest total score after the first seven rounds qualify for the final round of competition, which is conducted during the second half of the final performance.
The rider with the highest total score on eight bulls determines the PBR World Finals winner - garnering the rider a bonus of more than $225,000.
The PBR World Finals event winner is not to be confused with the PBR World Champion! The PBR World Champion will be determined by the rider who accrued the most BFTS points throughout the entire regular season.
The PBR event is hotter than any in recent history ...
The PBR World Championship race has bull riders in hot pursuit of a one million dollar pay day. The PBR rider who, upon conclusion of 30 regular-season events and the PBR World Finals, has earned the most points will be crowned the PBR World Champion and awarded the million dollar bonus. The maximum number of points available during the World Finals is 6,500, meaning that any of the top 15 contestants listed in the BFTS point standings are conceivably contenders for the world title.
