WELCOME RODEO FANS TO THE
National Western Stock Show and Rodeo
If you are in Denver in the middle of January, you'd better hang onto your Stetson, because that's when the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo comes to town, along with 600,000 rootin' tootin' exhibitors and spectators.
Billed as the largest livestock exhibition in the world, this two-week extravaganza is packed with nonstop shows and demonstrations, from sheep shearing to steer wrestling.
Daily rodeos showcase the horse and bull-riding skills of some of the best riders in the country before cheering, sellout crowds in the National Western Complex. Other favorites include barrel races, show-horse contests, a junior rodeo (where some of the riders are 3 years old!), Wild West shows, and the colorful Mexican Rodeo Extravaganza.
Take a break from the action and tour the exhibition hall for demonstrations in wool spinning and goat milking, or walk the grounds to see what a yak looks (or even tastes) like up close. Mid-January.
The National Western Stock Show & Rodeo is the second stop on the Wrangler ProRodeo Winter Tour, the PRCA's premier 12-city series of rodeos that culminates in the Pace Picante ProRodeo Chute-Out.
