The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo takes place each year for 3 weeks in January and February in Fort Worth, Texas in the United States. It is held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. The show's primary purpose is as an educational showcase for the livestock industry.
The nation's oldest stock show, Fort Worth's first "Stock Show" took place in 1896. In 1901 it officially adopted the name "Texas Fat Stock Show" and in 1907 admission was charged for the first time; the cost was 25 cents. The name was changed again in 1918 to the "Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show." Also in that year, the Stock Show hosted the world's first indoor rodeo.
