Prior to the modern Dodge City Roundup there were 2 Community celebrations:

Dodge City Roundup - Mid Summer
It was in 1960 that community leaders decided to combine the two and call it Dodge City Days. Looking back through old files, we find the celebration was a three day event. Rodeo tickets cost $.75 to $1.50.
It has now evolved into a 10 day celebration that is well known nationwide.
The Dodge City Chamber is the overall sponsor & coordinator of Dodge City Days. Its original intent was to celebrate Dodge City's great Western heritage, and it still accomplishes that today!
The Committees for Dodge City Days are broken down into two sub-committees:
Dodge City Days Management Committee - makes decisions on events & handles financial responsibilities..
Dodge City Days Committee - every business or organization that sponsors an event sits on this committee.
The Committees work year round to continue striving to make it bigger each year.

Dodge City Roundup is home to rodeo events like: bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding.
