Ryan Von Ahn and Trevor Connolly of Southeastern Oklahoma State University led the overall standings in roping with a total time of 29.4 seconds through three rounds at the College National Finals Rodeo.
Two rounds have been completed to allow more than 400 contestants to compete in the preliminary rounds.
Jordan Muncy of Panhandle State University recorded the fastest time in barrel racing, taking her horse around the three-barrel pattern in 14.20 seconds. She ranks third overall in that event.
Muncy's older brother, Taos, won the college saddle bronc riding championship last year before going on to win the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association world title.
The third round will continue Wednesday.
